Kwara Government begins transfer of cash to the poor


Kwara State government under the leadership of Governor Abdulrahman begins the transfer of cash to the poor household in Kwara State.

Governor Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq launched the federal government’s Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) on Monday, 6th April 2020.

However, the Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) is proposed to assist the poor that are forced to stay at home during this global pandemic.

The assistance is meant for the 25000 households in Kwara State with the beneficiaries getting at least #20,000 each.

Apparently, the disbursement is meant to assist the poor families who have been forced to date at home during the lockdown.

The governor recommended the federal government for increasing the CCT OF Kwara State from 10,000 to 25,000.

He said the move consummates the effort of the state to allay the consequences of movement restriction.

“At this moment, aid material which includes the supply of food has been distributed to every ward in the state by the independent committee, comprising the religious, traditional leaders and the community-based organization.”

Whereas, this lockdown has made the Kwara government directs the civil servant to work from home.

However, this will quench any form of hunger amid the citizen and it will make the lockdown to be effective and productive.
