INEC Meets With Political Parties Ahead Of Kogi, Bayelsa Elections

The chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Professor Mahmood Yakubu is meeting with political parties in Abuja with respect to the Kogi and Bayelsa governorship elections slated to hold in November.

The meeting is also expected to review the performances of political parties during the elections and provide solutions to issues raised. It will be recalled that there had been some agitations among political parties about the call to scrap parties that failed to elect at least a candidate during the last elections.

The Chairman of the commission said it is more economical to combine the Senatorial re-run in Kogi and bye-election in Bayelsa state.
