    • Senator Benjamin Uwajumogu representing Imo North district in the Nigerian Senate is dead.  Uwajumogu reportedly died on Wednesday 18 December 2019, after collapsing in his Abuja residence.
    • The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) on Wednesday confirmed that two persons died, while one person sustained injuries in an accident along Benin-Ore Expressway.
    • The Ogun State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps said it has arrested two persons for allegedly shooting one of its personnel in the leg in order to evade arrest.
    • United States President, Donald Trump has now been formally impeached by the House of Representatives for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. The vote followed weeks of testimony, related to his dealings with Ukraine. 230 to 197 votes in the Democratic-majority House saw to the impeachment of the US president.
    • Sotitobire Miracle Centre, the church where a one-year-old, Gold Kolawole mysteriously went missing has been set on fire. One year old baby Kolawole was declared missing one month ago during a church service after his mother dropped him at the children section.
    • The Supreme Court of Nigeria on Wednesday, upheld the re-election of Mr. Udom Emmanuel as Governor of Akwa Ibom State.
    • The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has stated that no amount of smear campaign will stop it from using the National Identity Management Number (NIM) for the conduct of its exams.
