Oyo state government has confirmed nineteen new cases of the novel coronavirus.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known during its daily report on new cases of COVID-19.
Subsequently, Governor Seyi Makinde has taken to its social media to announced the new cases to the residents.
According to Makinde, Oyo has recorded another 19 new cases in the state.
Makinde said, nineteen suspected cases are been tested and they all returned positive.
However, amid the nineteen cases, fifteen cases are from iSON Xperiences in the Ibadan South West Local government.
While the remaining four cases are from Ido Local government and Ibadan East Local government.
This brings the total confirmed cases in Oyo state to 162.
Also, Makinde added that two patients have been discharged from the state isolation center today.
The patients are been discharged to reunite with society after been tested negative two consecutive times.
However, the number of discharged patients in the state has increased to 48.
” Two confirmed COVID-19 patients have received their second NEGATIVE test results and have been discharged.”
“This brings the number of discharged cases in Oyo State to forty-eight.”
“Also, the COVID-19 confirmation tests for nineteen suspected cases came back POSITIVE. Fifteen are from iSON Xperiences in Ibadan South West Local Government Area (LGA), 2 are from Ido LGA and 1 is from Ibadan South East LGA.”
“So, the total number of confirmed cases in Oyo State is 162.”
Makinde has, therefore, urged residents to always contact the Emergency Operation Centre for any notification.
