COVID-19: Lagos, Ogun establishes two new laboratories-NCDC


The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has announced the establishment of two more laboratories in Lagos and Ogun state.

Subsequently, Lagos and Ogun state has establish two new laboratories for testing COVID-19 patients.

However, this brings the number of laboratories molecular laboratory network to 17.

NCDC has announced that this will expands the national testing capacity.

Consequently, the establishment of the laboratories is the collaboration of the state, weare54gene, and NCDC.

“We are pleased to announce the inclusion of two new laboratories in Lagos & Ogun, established by @weare54gene in collaboration with the State governments & NCDC This brings the number of laboratories in our molecular lab network to 17 & expands national testing capacity.”

Subsequently, these new laboratories will increase the testing capacity of the nation.

Also, NCDC has shown their heart of gratitude to JICA-DIRECT-EN for the donation of PPEs in support to contain the spread of COVID-19.

Amid the pandemic, a lot of donations have been ongoing in order to contain the spread of the virus.

Therefore the JICA-DIRECT-EN has also support NCDC with personal protective equipment.
