President Muhammedu Buhari has given approval to the National Agency for the Great Green Wall to commerce the planting of 26 million trees.
Subsequently, this is in the fulfillment of the President’s commitment at the 74th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
The Great Green Wall Programme is a Pan-African Initiative conceived to address land degradation & desertification, & boost food security.

However, this tree-planting campaign will be implemented in 8 States across Northern Nigeria.
Precisely, the plantation would be in Borno, Jigawa, Katsina, Sokoto, Yobe, Kebbi, Kano, and Zamfara State.
